Common faults are power supply sockets, battery clips, input/output sockets and controls that have take one too many collisions! Most of these don't take too long to track down and fix, but they aren't always the whole story.Repairing quality effects pedals can definitely be cost effective, especially when some can cost well over £100. Some more budget models costing less than £20 new might not be so cost effective, so it will depend on the balance of cost. If you really want the effect working and it's not made any longer, then this might change that too.
